Jessica Hart, Miroslava Duma, and More Have a Bergdorf’s Tea Party for Marlo Laz

Jewelry designer Jesse Marlo Lazowski toasted the latest collection for her brand, Marlo Laz, yesterday afternoon with a charming afternoon tea party at Bergdorf Goodman. “I think this place is really suited to afternoon teas, and my brand is suited to afternoon teas as well,” said Lazowski. Her line of fine jewelry is inspired by bohemia, her love of the French language, all things colorful, and her own extensive travels. So it was fitting that the crew of ladies who turned out in support were a well-traveled, diverse bunch: jet-setting model Jessica Hart; Natalya Poniatowski, who often flies home to Moscow to visit family; Lauren Remington Platt, who travels constantly in support of her business Vênsette; and Zani Gugelmann, a frequent visitor to Peru, among them.

Illusionist Josh Beckerman (better known as the “Foodie Magician”) thrilled the crowd with his usual tricks, at one point making some Marlo Laz rings levitate. And the fun didn’t stop there—there were also some delightful cookies in the shape of Marlo Laz’s signature evil-eye rings, and beautiful floral arrangements prepared by none other than Lazowski’s mother. “My mom made all these, can you believe it? It really is a family affair,” she said.

Lazowski’s luxe-bohemian jewelry has been a smash hit at retailers like Bergdorf Goodman and Fivestory, and the afternoon affair had an air of frivolity and warmth that reflects her brand. “What I love about Marlo Laz is that it speaks to different ages and ranges of women,” said Lazowski. Indeed, her grandmother and mother were in attendance at the party, and a guest list that ranges from Claire Distenfeld Olshan, to Miroslava Duma and Casey Fremont is certainly a tea party to reckon with.

The afternoon blended into the early evening, and guests reluctantly began to leave. You got the sense that every day at Bergdorf’s was like this, one big tea party. So as she made her exit, it was funny to hear Jessica Hart say to a friend: “I heard there’s another party downstairs—shall we?"
