Marc Jacobs, Ralph Lauren, Lanvin, Christian Dior, Hermès—these are just some of the major international Fashion Week shows that Ukrainian model Alina Baikova has walked in. She’s also nabbed the cover spot on glossy magazines like Elle, Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, and Marie Claire. So with New York Fashion Week around the corner (six sleeps to go!), we asked Baikova to share a page from her food and fitness diary—including exactly what meals a top runway model eats and how she works out.

What is a typical breakfast?

I start my day with a matcha latte from my favorite Cha Cha Matcha on Broome St, and then I workout. I always workout before breakfast!

How do you take your morning coffee?

I make my own espresso when I wake up—no milk, no sugar. I never add sugar in my drinks.

I don’t like to snack, but I love meals.

What do you normally have for lunch?

Lunch is my favorite meal of the day! I love eating big lunches, but never deep fried food. I’ll eat salad with olive oil and no other dressing. There’s always sugar in salad dressings, dairy, and butter.

What do you normally have for dinner?

I never cook so I’m always eating out. When I do eat dinner, I go for clean fish or stake with no sauce. It’s usually a late dinner too so that’s why I try and keep it light.

Do you drink alcohol?

I don’t really like nor drink too much alcohol, but sometimes I’ll have a glass of champagne or smokey mezcal.

Do you eat dessert?

I used to never like desserts, but this has changed! If there’s something special I like to have it’s my favorite Medovik (Ukraine cake) or a good hot chocolate cake.

What’s your go-to workout?

I workout almost every day and I love Barry’s Bootcamp and Modo Yoga (hot yoga). Sometimes I’ll just do whatever my friends are doing, like SoulCycle or Pilates.

alina_baikova3How would you normally describe your nutrition plan?

Very healthy.

What is your favorite local healthy restaurant in New York and what do you usually order?

I love Souen. Everything is very healthy there with macrobiotic food. I also love Coco and Cru for their green bowl and sushi. If I want steak it has to be Cipriani!

What’s your strategy for dealing with stress?

Probably an intense workout and a good night’s sleep.

What’s the one beauty product you use religiously?

I use Biologique Recherche and I can’t live without it. The moisturizing serum and spray is something I’m really addicted to.
