An inside look at Vanity Fair’s Oscars party

Even the stars get star-struck at the Vanity Fair party. Katie Couric and her husband, John Molner, couldn’t resist asking Mick Jagger for a selfie at the bash.

When Jagger got up to leave, Couric asked, “Mick? Where are you going?” “I’m off,” the rocker suavely said. “Cheerio!” Couric called out.

At Graydon Carter’s VIP party on Sunday, the stars gathered to debate — as much as celebrate — the night’s events.

“I would have handled it terribly,” James Corden — who hosted the Grammys — told us of the onstage snafu that accidentally awarded “La La Land” Best Picture.

With Oscar in hand, “Moonlight” director Barry Jenkins was the toast of the bash in a crowd that included Katy Perry, Allison Williams, Elton John, Jennifer Aniston, Scarlett Johansson, Mariah Carey, Justin Timberlake, Reese Witherspoon, Charlize Theron, Kate Hudson, Caitlyn Jenner and Monica Lewinsky.

The sea of stars and power players made for some interesting mashups.

“Star Wars” savior J.J. Abrams chatted with Megyn Kelly, Jagger sat with shoe designer Christian Louboutin, Salman Rushdie powwowed with Rufus Wainwright, and Jimmy Kimmel palled around with his TV comedy enemy, Matt Damon.

And as if all the flowing Dom Pérignon wasn’t enough, one comic puffed something fragrant outside and passed it to pals, while in the Hollywood era of psychedelic “microdosing,” one star’s wild wife announced she was about to down some “shrooms.”
