‘Bad Get Some’ by Miss Velvet And The Blue Wolf
Miss Velvet and the Blue Wolf is set to release their 10-track album, BAD GET SOME, on Oct. 27th, 2017 with Isotopia Records. Critics have described the group’s must-hear sound as: “If the band Chicago and Led Zeppelin had a baby with Janis Joplin.”
After emerging as the underdog darlings of the 2016 SXSW Festival in Austin, TX, the eight-piece band chose Detroit Michigan’s iconic United Sound Studio (home to music legends like Earth, Wind & Fire, George Clinton and Parliament-Funkadelic) to record their debut album.
Produced and directed by Isotopia Records, the album features native New Yorker Miss Velvet on powerhouse vocals. The talented Blue Wolf Band – made up of Constance Hauman, Nick Carbone. James Jones, Henry Ott, Jehiah Bray, Trevor Neumann and Dan Levine – infuse their unique and infectious blend of rock, soul and funk throughout the album, inspired by the jaw-dropping vocals of frontwoman Miss Velvet. The group spent months in the Detroit studio recording and living together just like the bands of the ’70s, giving them the opportunity to define their much-talked-about sound.
With their debut showcase single, “Dare,” Miss Velvet and the Blue Wolf take the listener on a journey back to the days of psychedelic rock. The band traveled to Estonia, to film their upcoming music video “Dare” filmed at the Linnehall a building built in 1980 in Tallinn Estonia by the Russians for the Olympics. The video will be released worldwide November 27th.
BAD GET SOME is available digitally on iTunes, Apple Music Spotify Deezer, Quobuz, Tidal and Amazon Music. The vinyl album is also available now for pre-order on Amazon Music, Best Buy and Barnes & Noble.
Owning the stage this summer with their NYC summer residency at Rockwood Music Hall, Miss Velvet’s incendiary stage presence and electrifying vocals took her and The Blue Wolf back to Estonia and Finland for appearances at the Jogevatreff Festival, Helsinki’s Elmun Baari, Tallin’s Philly Joe’s and closing it out in a lineup with the incomparable blues guitarist, Eric Gayles on the Auguusti Bluues Festival. They ended the summer with a sold-out show at Stephen’s Talkhouse in Amagansett NY. Already scheduled as the Labor Day opener for the legendary Charles Bradley, at Montauk’s Surf Lodge 10th anniversary concert, Miss Velvet and The Blue Wolf, stepped in as the last-minute headliner when Bradley had to cancel. They returned to Surf Lodge in September to open up for 90’s iconic band The Wallflowers.
Miss Velvet and the Blue Wolf will be headed for their second European tour to Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Estonia, Finland Denmark, UK And Ireland in Jan-Feb. 2018.
