Roberto Deiaco, a one-time executive chef at Armani/Ristorante 5th Avenue, has opened Avena, located on East 57th and Lexington, with a modern Italian menu drawing upon his upbringing in the northern region of the country, as well as his years of experience cooking for Giorgio Armani’s restaurant and Cipriani.
So it was fitting that the crew of ladies who turned out in support were a well-traveled, diverse bunch: jet-setting model Jessica Hart; Natalya Poniatowski, who often flies home to Moscow to visit family; Lauren Remington Platt, who travels constantly in support of her business Vênsette; and Zani Gugelmann, a frequent visitor to Peru, among them.
